Dave’s Tamco Paint Project

Repainted the hood and roof of my ‘97 Ford Ranger. I am strictly an amateur car restorer and only paint something every couple of years. That said, I found the Tamco paints to be excellent! The 2K DTA primer flowed very well with 1.4 tip and it sanded easily the next day. I had zero runs or sags and it laid very flat and smooth. I used the same tip to spray the base coat with the same great results, great coverage with 3 coats and zero runs. I switched to 1.2 tip to spray the clear coat and the 4100 also flowed very well and was easy to apply. I waited 4 days for everything to cure and breath and then cut and buffed everything. I had some minor orange peel ( equal to factory finish) but the cut and buff made it all like glass. I am very happy! The OEM paint is a close match to the original and I am sure I can blend it with other panels if I am ever inclined to. But this is my run around town truck so not really worried about it. I’m looking forward to using Tamco products again soon as I move closer to painting my ‘34 Dodge hot rod and repainting my ‘75 Corvette. I’ve used plenty of other paint brands and have to say this was one of my best experiences. My only criticism would be about the packing. None of the product leaked out but the cans arrived pretty dented. Very happy overall, thanks for the great service and quality paint! Dave

Estimate shipping

Tamco Paint's shipping fees are "real time rates" meaning, we charge you what it costs to ship depending on what you ordered and where it is shipping. That said, we offer free shipping to the lower 48 states in the USA if your order is $500+!

Please keep in mind, we DO NOT guarantee delivery transit times. The shipping companies include "Estimated Delivery Times" which are estimates and should be treated as such. Also Tamco Paint will NOT refund for late deliveries, delayed transit, or any other wait due to the shipping and handling involved.

If you forgot an item, we will not ship the rest for free. Send us a message on our on-site Chat by clicking the chat bubble in the bottom right to add onto your order. We usually can help make that happen if your order hasn't been packaged up yet.

Under normal circumstances, ship the next day (M-F , some holidays change this as well). If you order early AM or early afternoon, we will most likely be able to get your order out that day! CALL for order changes!! (please note we do not ship the next day for mixed paint.)

We use Fedex & UPS and USPS (for non-hazardous products). Orders that reach "Free shipping" will be chosen by Tamco Paint.
