When it comes to custom motorcycles, few colors stand out quite like Tamco Paint’s SoCal Blue Candy Concentrate. Stuart Ellis of Southernboy Baggers proved just how breathtaking this color can be with his custom Harley Davidson paint job. The deep, vibrant blue contrasts beautifully against the bike’s chrome accents, creating a show-stopping combination that turns heads instantly.
The process began with meticulous prep work, starting with HR397W Waterbourne Wax & Grease Remover and HR398 Final Wipe to ensure a flawless foundation. From there, a brilliant ground layer of Slick Silver Metallic was applied, followed by flake from Paint Huffer to add extra sparkle and dimension.
Next came the star of the show, three coats of SoCal Blue Candy Concentrate carefully applied with CC3000 Candy Carrier and HR Reducers to achieve a smooth, even finish. The candy layers built up depth and richness, transforming the base into a dazzling metallic blue that shifts beautifully under the light.
To lock it all in, Ellis finished with HC2104 High Solids Clearcoat, providing a glass-like shine and long-lasting protection. With the help of Tamco T-Cups - Spray gun cup liner system, the spraying process was kept efficient and clean, ensuring every detail of the Harley’s curves was coated to perfection.
The final result? A bold, brilliant Harley Davidson that redefines what blue can mean for custom motorcycles.
