Tommy Nelson brought this 1964 VW Bug to life with a bold, color-shifting finish that’s impossible to ignore. The custom base color, supplied by the owner, set the stage for a truly unique look. To ensure professional-level adhesion, durability, and long-lasting shine, Tommy incorporated a range of Tamco Paint products throughout the process.
The prep work began with HR397 and HR398 Final Wipe, ensuring a perfectly clean surface for flawless application. DTM Primer Kit, and Forever Seal were applied to create a strong foundation for the custom color. Once the vibrant, color-shifting base was laid down, Tommy used HC895 Intercoat & Clearcoat, followed by HH57 Basecoat Hardener, to achieve a smooth, even finish.
The build was completed with Tamco’s HC4100 Glamour Clearcoat Kit, giving the VW Bug its show-stopping gloss, enhanced depth, and long-term protection. This clearcoat not only makes the custom color pop under every angle of light but also ensures a durable, professional finish that will last for years to come.
With skillful craftsmanship and the reliability of Tamco’s finishing products, this VW Bug turned into a true head-turner, perfectly blending unique color choice with high-end paint performance.
