Austin Riddle brought a true icon back to life with his expert application of Tamco’s Throwback Plum Crazy on this stunning 1971 Plymouth Barracuda. Known for its vibrant and unforgettable presence in the early 1970s, this retro shade delivers a perfect mix of nostalgia and head-turning style.
The process began with meticulous surface preparation to ensure the Cuda’s body was perfectly smooth and ready to accept paint. Austin then applied Tamco Throwback Plum Crazy in even, consistent coats to capture the deep, rich purple tone in its full glory. To achieve optimal flow and leveling for a flawless finish, HR Reducers were used during the application. The result is a mirror-like, uniform color that makes this classic Mopar stand out just as it did over 50 years ago.
Austin’s work is a testament to both his refined technique and the enduring appeal of Tamco’s Throwback series, turning this 1971 Plymouth Barracuda into a moving piece of muscle car history.
