In the world of automotive craftsmanship, Mike Mccrea proves time and again that true artistry lies in the details. His latest project showcases his skill and passion as he transformed a vehicle using Tamco Paint’s Packard Centennial Blue, a timeless OEM shade from 1937 that carries both history and elegance.
Every masterpiece starts with preparation. Mike began by cleaning the surface thoroughly with HR397W Waterbourne Wax & Grease Remover followed by HR398 Final Wipe, ensuring a contaminant-free foundation. To build strength and adhesion, he applied HP5310 Grey DTM (Direct to Metal) Primer Kit, creating the perfect base for the color to shine.
The highlight of the build was the application of Packard Centennial Blue | L | 1937 | OEM AG Series Single Stage. This rich and classic blue tone was brought to life with the help of HR Reducers, allowing for smooth flow and consistency during application. For durability and performance, Mike finished the job with 76 Series Hardener, ensuring the paintwork would stand strong against time and the elements. To keep the process efficient and precise, he relied on the Tamco T-Cups - Spray gun cup liner system, a trusted tool in professional-level refinishing.
The result is more than just a paint job, it’s a tribute to both vintage automotive heritage and modern refinishing excellence. Through his process, Mike McCrea demonstrates how the right products, paired with dedication and vision, can transform car parts into rolling works of art.
