When it comes to creating a finish that radiates both luxury and individuality, Scot McDonald proved his mastery on Lee Sawyer’s car. Starting with a clean foundation, McDonald relied on Tamco Paint’s HP5312 White DTM (Direct to Metal) Primer Kit, ensuring proper adhesion and a smooth base to build upon.
From there, the magic unfolded with the application of Ron Burgundy Pearl. This rich, vibrant color highlighted the car’s curves and details, bringing out an elegant yet bold character that immediately commands attention on the road. To guarantee a flawless application, HR Reducers were used, helping achieve consistency and depth throughout the finish.
Before the final layers, the project was prepped with HR397W Waterbourne Wax & Grease Remover and HR398 Final Wipe, ensuring a contaminant-free surface for ultimate clarity. To lock in the shine and provide long-lasting protection, McDonald finished with HC2104 High Solids Clearcoat, delivering a glossy, durable seal that enhances the depth of the Ron Burgundy Pearl.
The result is nothing short of breathtaking, a seamless blend of painter expertise, premium Tamco products, and an owner’s vision. Lee Sawyer now drives a one-of-a-kind custom vehicle that turns heads at every corner.
