Dan Johnson of Johnson Mechanical & Restoration LLC brought both skill and heart into his latest custom project, a 1969 Plymouth Barracuda finished in Tamco Paint’s Shamrock Green. This deep and vibrant green, applied over a black base, delivers a bold and unforgettable look that perfectly balances vintage muscle with modern flair.
The process began with HR397W Waterbourne Wax & Grease Remover and HR398 Final Wipe to ensure a spotless surface. Dan then laid down HP5310 Grey DTM (Direct to Metal) Primer Kit followed by Forever Seal, providing excellent adhesion and corrosion protection. The brilliant Shamrock Green basecoat was mixed with HR Reducers and HH57 Basecoat Hardener to maximize durability and color depth. To lock it all in, he finished the build with the HC4100 Glamour Clearcoat Kit, giving the Barracuda a show-quality gloss and long-lasting protection. For efficiency and precision, Dan also utilized the Tamco T-Cups - Spray gun cup liner system, ensuring a flawless application.
What makes this build even more special is its story, Dan gifted this stunning Barracuda to his father for Christmas 2023, turning the project into more than just a car, but a meaningful family keepsake.
