This is not your ordinary masterpiece! Mark Hayward is doing his thing turning an ordinary storage cabinet into a beautiful piece for their home.
Mark & Christine, revamped one of their furniture pieces at their home for their new parrot's cabinet. And yes, it was done entirely with Tamco Paint products! Mark designed the step by step guide for Tamco Wood Stains for a long lasting finish, here is another personal wood piece he has created.
Here's how he did it step by step:
- Surface Preparation. Began by sanding the entire surface, then clean thoroughly using Tamco Paint HR397W Waterbourne Wax & Grease Remover to make sure that the surface was clean, with this it ensures a flawless and neat finish.
- Sealing and Conditioning. Next, apply the HP3500 Clear Forever Seal in order to prepare the body and also served as a wood conditioner before applying the Rusted Gold. This is a very important step as it is determine how volume of products can be used in order to achieve a perfect stain. Not using this can result in more products used and will need to apply many coats of product.
- Staining. In applying the Rusted Gold - Wood Stain Kit, he used the wipe method, by only using rag to apply. Take note that do not apply in direct sun and use a clean lint free rag.
- Finishing Touch. To achieved a smooth satin sheen he utilized the AmerFlint II Clearcoat Kit, and HP Flat Universal Flattening Agent to flatten the clear to a Satin finish. Mix AmerFlint II Clearcoat with our HP Flat at a 1:1 ratio for a satin look.
