Medium Solids Clearcoat Kit

HC2100 is a medium solids clearcoat that has excellent flow, leveling and gloss retention. At 45% solids it still provides plenty of film build for the custom and collision industry. As with many of the other Tamco clears HC2100 is manufactured from direct to metal resins. This means clear can be applied directly over properly sanded and cleaned metal where protection from the elements is required.

Q&A

Q: What is the difference in HC2100 & HC4100?

A: HC4100 & HC2100 are both medium solid clearcoats & both are also pretty user friendly. HC4100 is our top selling clearcoat.

Q: Do I need to reduce HC2100?

A: Most painters do not need to reduce HC2100. While we do not recommend it, you can reduce HC2100 5- 10% with our HR 1370, 1380 or 1390 Urethane Reducer.

Q: Did you make a slow version of HC2100?

A: We did not. HC4105 is designed for hot & humid climates. If you are spraying over 90+ degrees, switch to HC4105 for summer. While it will spray different being a 4:1, it's the best option for hot/humid conditions.

Tamco Clear and primer

Your materials are first rate I have been using your clear for over a year now and it is fantastic just started using the 5310 primer I have used it for sealer so far and it's great. Love your products can't wait to try more of them. I own a body shop and they are better than the brand name products I was using would defiantly recommend them for production work.

I'm a dit-er and painting by car for the first time. The 2100 clear was recommended for me and I've been able to achieve some great results with it. I find it very easy to work with, lays don very wel and a produces a great finish. This additional purchase of 2100 is that that I have enoigh to complete flow coating my 1961 Ranchero.
