Some paint jobs catch your eye, others refuse to let you look away. Sam Koomson achieved the latter with his stunning application of Tamco Paint’s SoCal Candy Pearl Basecoat layered over a rich dark blue base. The result is a captivating color shift that dances in the light, giving the project an irresistible allure from every angle.
Sam began by laying a solid foundation with HP5310 Grey DTM (Direct to Metal) Primer Kit, ensuring the surface was perfectly prepped for the layers to come. This primer not only improved adhesion but also created an even, consistent base to bring out the full vibrancy of the color.
Next came the star of the show, SoCal Candy Pearl Basecoat, applied with care to achieve an even and luminous effect. The dark blue base beneath the candy coat allowed the pearl pigments to pop, creating depth and movement in the finish. HR Reducers were used to optimize flow and achieve a silky-smooth application.
For lasting brilliance and protection, Sam sealed the project with four coats of HC2021 High Solids Clearcoat, locking in the color while delivering a flawless, high-gloss finish that’s built to endure years of admiration.
The final product? A head-turning masterpiece that proves the perfect pairing of expert craftsmanship and premium materials can produce something truly unforgettable.
